Playing Chess on the Internet

This is the place to play chess when an opponent isn't available for an over the board (OTB) game. Many Herts juniors play on ICC (www.chessclub.com). You pay for a subscription and there is nothing else to pay. You need to set some options to see just human opponents. You choose different levels of interaction and censure anyone who acts inappropriately. Avoid games that are too short. A 5 12 game (5 minutes plus 12 seconds per move) is probably the shortest you should play. Look for standard length games but be prepared for a long game. As you win games so your rating will improve.
